I found this helpful on Image Journal: “the risk of sharing work with us”. What I say there may be an oxymoron, for why is the risk of sharing work with them helpful? Let me bring in the context. They’re saying submitting work is a risk: when someone shares their work with an editor, it is a risk. Sharing one’s work with an editor is exhilarating and nerve wracking. One doesn’t know the outcome, but is excited nevertheless. A risk in other words. Yes, risk is the right word; the word risk illuminates what I do when I submit articles, stories, and devotions. And Image Journal appreciate that in a writer as do many other journals.

Peter’s favourite book is the Bible in any version and reads Christian books, literature including children’s and adult, and film books. His most memorable movie is Amadeus. Musically, takes an interest in all sorts, but is more likely to listen to pop music, singer/songwriter, Christian music, and certain niche material, eschewing rock, and heavy metal generally. He was pinning his hopes on the All Whites getting into the Fifa World Cup, the Black Caps winning against England, and has been saddened and shocked by gun crimes in the United States. Covid-19 has not affected him directly but sees sticking to health and safety as a matter of survival. Resourceful, eclectic, and enthusiastic, he has won several accolades for cricket, public speaking, debating, and scripture reading.

Thanks for your reply. Sorry about the delay in replying. Been snowed under. I forgot to say that I have never thought of the risk when submitting to publishers for years, only until recently, when I started out submitting to books publishers. The next level I think.
